Navigation using CTAs in Workflows

You can add CTA buttons to a Workflow balloon, to launch a new Workflow from an existing one, jump from one Workflow step to another, start a video, or open a new webpage for more information that helps end users in their flow of work. For example, you have two Workflows named Create a New Lead and Overview of the Homepage Section in Salesforce. You may want to give the user additional information on the Leads section or assist them in creating a New Lead while guiding them through the Workflow Overview of the Homepage Section. In such a scenario, you can add a call-to-action (CTA) button to the required step in the Workflow Overview of the Homepage Section, which when clicked, initiates the Workflow Create a New Lead on your application.

Launching the Apty Content through CTAs in a Workflow is a two-step process:

Step 1: Create Apty Content

  • Workflows: You must create the Workflow before attaching it to a CTA button. For more information, see Create Workflows.

Note:

  • The CTA in Workflow A can initiate Workflow B if Workflow B is on the same page as Workflow A.
  • On the other hand, launching Workflow B present on a different page, requires that its first step be on the same page as Workflow A. The first step acts as a portal to Workflow B, which is located on a different page and prompts the user to access the necessary page in order to begin Workflow B.
  • Knowledge Center Content: Any third-party content such as videos, links, images, and texts must first be stored in your Admin Portal's Knowledge Centre. When creating Apty content like Workflows, Validations, Launchers, Tooltips, and Announcements, you may subsequently be able to access the Knowledge Centre content through the Apty Studio. For more information, see Add Videos, Links, Images, and Texts to your Knowledge Center.

Step 2: Attach the Apty Content to a CTA button in a Workflow Step

Follow the steps below to attach the Apty Content to a CTA button in a Workflow step:

Prerequisites:

You have opened your application on your web browser, loaded the Apty Studio and initiated creating or editing your Workflow. To learn more on when can you add CTAs to a Workflow step, see Create Workflows.

1.  Scroll down to the CUSTOM CTA section of the required Workflow step in the Apty Studio and then click the Add CTA button.

Note:

A call to action(CTA) is typically written as a command or action phrase, such as 'Sign Up', 'Buy Now', 'Learn More', 'Subscribe', 'Ok, Got it', or 'Close' and generally takes the form of a button or hyperlink that prompts the user to perform the specified action.

Just like Launchers and Announcements, existing Workflows also helps in launching new Workflows, starting videos, accessing a new webpage for additional information through links using the CTA buttons.
