What is Version Locking?
Version Locking allows Apty Content Creators and Administrators to protect content versions—such as Workflows, Tooltips, Launchers, Validations, and Announcements—by locking them. Once locked, these versions cannot be edited or modified, helping maintain a consistent user experience.

Managing content with multiple stakeholders can be challenging, especially when edits are uncontrolled. Version Locking addresses these challenges by providing:

Open the Apty tool to lock, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Versions.

Click the vertical ellipses next to the version to lock.

Select Lock.

When a version is locked:

It cannot be edited or activated.

A lock icon
appears next to the version name for easy identification.
Unlocking a Version:

Click on the vertical ellipses next to the locked version.

Select Unlock.

You can edit them or set them as active.

Automatic Locking on Publishing:
If your admin has enabled the Lock on Publishing option:

When a content version is published to Production, it will automatically lock.

A new version will be created and set as active.
Go to the application settings page and enable the Auto Lock Version On Publish option.
Testing and Validation

Lock a Version: Verify the lock icon appears next to the locked version and ensure it cannot be edited or activated.

Unlock a Version: Confirm the lock icon disappears after unlocking, and the version can be edited or set as active.

Lock on Publishing (if enabled): Ensure that the current version locks automatically when published, and a new version is created and set as active.
