Users have the choice to perform one of the following actions when an Announcement appears in your application:
- Accept the Announcement.
- Dismiss the Announcement.
- Start a Workflow, Video, or navigate to a different webpage.
These actions, also referred to as call to actions (CTAs), are usually written as commands or action phrases, such as "Sign Up," "Buy Now," "Learn More," "Subscribe," "Ok, Got it," or "Close," and typically appear as buttons or hyperlinks that, when activated (on click), cause the Announcement to perform the specified action.
You can create the following CTAs in Apty:
Prerequisites:
You have opened your application on your web browser, loaded the Apty Studio and initiated creating or editing your Announcement. To learn more on when to use CTAs, see Create Announcements.
OK
When you're creating or editing an Announcement, the OK CTA is selected by default and accepts the Announcement when triggered, indicating that the user has read, understood, and agreed to accept the Announcement's contents. Once the user accepts the Announcement, it will no longer show up on the application page.
To create an OK CTA:
1. Scroll down to the CTAS section in the Apty Studio and then click the ADD CTA button.
2. Enter the label text for the CTA button.
3. Select a BUTTON STYLE from the dropdown, and then under the ALIGNMENT section, select the button position on the Announcement.
You can customize the button color and size in the Admin Portal. To learn more, see Themes(Version 4.x).
Dismiss
The Dismiss CTA dismisses the Announcement either temporarily or permanently on your application.
To create an Dismiss CTA:
1. Scroll down to the CTAS section in the Apty Studio and then click the ADD CTA button.
2. Click the Dismiss tab.
3. Enter the label text for the CTA button.
Note: The Dismiss CTA has two operations:
- DISMISS BUTTON: When clicked, it temporarily closes the Announcement on the current tab, but continue to display the Announcement every time the user visits the application page in a new tab until they accept the Announcement.
- HIDE BUTTON: When clicked, it permanently closes the Announcement and hide it even if the user opens the application page in a new tab.
4. Select a BUTTON STYLE from the dropdown, and then under the ALIGNMENT section, select the button position on the Announcement.
You can customize the button color and size in the Admin Portal. To learn more, see Themes(Version 4.x).
Launch an Action
Just like Launchers, Announcements also helps in launching Workflows, starting videos, and accessing a new webpage for additional information using the CTA buttons.
To learn more, see Launch a Workflow, Video, or Link using Announcements.
Note:
- You can add multiple CTAs together for multiple options.
- The Announcement is Mandatory feature has a checkbox and a label message that ensures users will only advance to the next stage after checking the box, indicating that they have read and understood the content of the Announcement.
Once you create or update an Announcement, you can make it accessible for your end users by saving and publishing it either through the Admin Portal or the Apty Studio.
For more information, see Publishing Apty Content(version 4.x or above).
