Add a Link, Image, or Video to the Tooltip

Sometimes a link or visual representation is worth a thousand words to communicate information to your users. You can add links, images, and videos in the Tooltip to describe the elements on your application, hence providing additional guidance to your end users in their flow of work.

To add a Link, Image, or Video to the Tooltip while creating or editing the Tooltip:

 

1.  Login to the Apty Studio after loading it on your web browser.

2.  Click Select Application.

3.  Choose SFL from the list of applications to launch Salesforce in your browser.

4.  Once the application opens, select Tooltips on your Apty Studio.

5.  Select a Frame to start creating Tooltips on your application page.

6.  Click the + icon or Create New Tooltip button to start creating a Tooltip.

Note:

If the Tooltip already exists, you can edit it by selecting it from the list of Tooltips.

7.  Click Select Element on your Apty Studio and then hover you cursor over the element you want to select on your application.

8.  Add a description to your Tooltip.

Add a Link

Links can be placed inside the Tooltip description field which will enable users to navigate to a different web page for additional information.

a.  Double click the word Leads to link to the destination webpage.

b.  Click the horizontal ellipsis to expand the text editor.

c.  Click the link icon 

d.  Enter the URL of the destination page you want the user to navigate to when they click Leads.

e.  Add the other details if necessary and then click Save.

Add an Image

Images can be added to the Tooltips and will be displayed to the user as shown below.

a.  Click the horizontal ellipsis to expand the text editor.

b.  Click the image icon 

c.  Enter the URL of the third-party application where the image exists in the Source field or Upload the image from your local stotage.

 
  • Source: Provide a source URL to the image. Your image should be posted and stored online in a third party application to make it accessible to Apty.
  • Alternative description: Provide an alternative text to the image you are adding to the Tooltip incase it breaks.
  • Width and Height: Since Tooltips are usually smaller in size, make sure that your image size is not too big or too small. Define the height and width of the image in the respective input fields.

d.  Add the other details if necessary and then click Save.

Add a Video

Videos can be added to the Tooltips and will be displayed to the user as shown below.

a.  Click the horizontal ellipsis to expand the text editor.

b.  Click the video icon 

c.  Enter the URL of the third-party application where the video exists in the Source field using one of the three options: General, Embed, Advanced.

d.  Add the other details if necessary and then click Save.

9.  Add the other details to your Tooltip if necessary and then click Save.
